How to Find the Most Qualified Candidates During the Pandemic

The local labor market is changing under the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic. If the labor market was led by the candidate before the pandemic, now the demand for jobs exceeds the supply, and employers are now in a dominant position.

It is not very difficult to find qualified candidates in this context, considering that their number has increased by about 20% – 30% compared to the pre-pandemic period, depending on the job offer we are talking about.

An acknowledged recruitment firm explains that companies conduct the recruiting process differently, depending on the industry in which they operate. Some of them have decided to postpone attracting new candidates until the pandemic will back off and the economic situation will become more stable. However, some activities have grown exponentially during this period and, to cope with projects/ orders, some businesses need to expand their teams.

The steps of the recruitment process remained the same as before the COVID-19 crisis. That is, the job offer is sent in writing and accepted by email. Video interviews have taken the place of face-to-face interviews, but they are an equally good way to talk to candidates and make sure they are the qualified professionals you are looking for.
